Last Sunday one of our seniors started her house Bible study for her final time. Brinn, who has been involved in Greek IV since she was a freshman, made an announcement at her chapter meeting, did all of her prep work, and invited girls to come. She told me that she had been somewhat discouraged that more had not happened in the house Bible study over the last few years that she had been leading it.

The first Delta Gamma study had ten girls attend and even more girls were interested in coming! An incredible range of backgrounds were represented at the study: girls who had grown up in Christian homes and Jewish homes, girls who had never been to church growing up, seniors and freshman.

These girls, who all share a common bond of sisterhood, realized they have even more in common. They see now that they all have questions about God and how He is relevant to their lives today. Because of Brinn’s faithfulness, these girls who know everything about each other, now have a place to talk about the things that matter most.

Lately, our students have been talking a lot about the vision of Greek IV. Every week our emcee reminds us that we are all a part of Greek IV to see lives transformed, Langdon Street renewed, and world changers developed. But what does that even look like? We took last night’s large group to delve into what the first part of this vision, to see lives transformed, actually means.

We had the pleasure of hearing from Mark Slaughter on this topic of true transformation. It was a joy to partner with him in this, as he played a large role in my own understanding of following Jesus. He compared the encounter that the rich young ruler had with Jesus to Paul’s encounter on the road to Damascus. Both men responded very differently to Jesus. He compared and contrasted the two and invited students to respond to Jesus as well. We had 7 students make a decision to follow Jesus, 4 for the first time! After filling out commitment cards, students came forward to get a small stone on which they could write a phrase or thought that symbolized their experience that night. They took these home as a reminder of the work that God is doing in their lives.

It is a continual joy to partner with God in seeing the lives of Greek students being transformed before our eyes!
