purdueIt was a campus altering weekend for many of the more than 140 Purdue University Greeks at GC-Indy. Of the 22 chapters that were represented, most saw new believers come to faith and several had new ministries or new discipleship focus birthed throughout the weekend. Tyler Riffe, Purdue campus staff and PU alum, put it this way: “From campus I get the joy of walking around in the middle of God’s movement, and trust me Dave, He blessed this Conference BIG time. We had tons of students come to Christ and our leaders are more fired up for ministry than ever. And I am more sure of this calling than ever.

One great story involved the Alpha Tau Omega chapter. Having recently gotten involved in the Greek IV Alumni Chapter in Indianapolis, 2000 alum Todd Hufford had a passion to help rebuild the ministry in his fraternity. So he contacted the chaplain, Cam and offered to help raise funds for any brother who would attend Conference. Cam recruited 31 brothers to Greek Conference. That weekend, seven of them became Christians and many any more made other decisions for Christ.  One of those seven was the guy that nobody expected to take faith seriously… he was THE “frat guy”.  Following conference this guy said to his entire house, “I found God this weekend, please help me change my life.” Another ATO brother said: “I’m starting to feel more and more drawn to God and this weekend makes me really want to become a Christian. I’ve decided I want to talk about the Bible more with my Christian fraternity brothers and start going to Church.”

Finally, God was moving in the sororities at Purdue as well, as testified by a sophomore Sigma Kappa. “My Greek and Christian life had not been connected at all. I had different friends in both areas. But this weekend they intersected for the first time. God broke my heart for my house and my sorority sisters. As I saw several of them accept Christ on Saturday night for the first time I had compassion for them. I want to lead them well.

Praise God for his faithfulness in expanding ministries and for rising up new believers at Purdue University!
