Todd then went to campus and met with the house bible study leader, Cam a few months ago. He gave him the challenge to recruit as many brothers as possible to Greek Conference. Todd then promised that he and other ATO alumni would fund their registrations somehow, not knowing how many guys they could round up.
Cam was able to get 31 Purdue ATOs to come to the Greek Conference in Indianapolis over the last weekend in January. Todd found 11 alumni to cover the expenses for each of them to attend the conference.
While at the Greek Conference seven of the brothers placed their faith in Jesus Christ. One great quote, upon returning from the Conference weekend, was from one of the new Christians who stood up in the Chapter meeting and said, “I found God this weekend, please help me change my life.” Prior to attending the confernece, the fraternity member was pretty non interested in spiritual things and was considered one of those guys the rest of the house thought of as the “frat guy”.
Greek InterVarsity is now making plans to replicate this alumni/house ministry leader partnership in other houses and campuses next year so that more students in more houses can encounter Jesus at a conference through the partnership of their brothers and sisters.
