Mark was invited to participate in Purdue U’s Greek IV ministry (fraternity & sorority students) outreach week. In one night, they scheduled Mark to speak in 4 different fraternity or sorority houses in a Question Mark format discussing spiritual questions. All 4 were well attended and full of energy and good discussion, with many students bringing friends who were farther from God than themselves. Since they invited other houses to join them, 14 Greek houses were represented in the 4 events! One student leader invited a friend who’d been pretty closed to discussing God. She attended, and afterwards they had an awesome discussion about spiritual issues for 90 minutes! A few days later, a student leader led an evangelism training event. Interactive Zones were set up outside, about finding satisfaction in life, as students and staff bridged into spiritual conversations from them. Students took good risks in boldness and numerous quality conversations happened. Mark had a unique conversation with a 60-yr old man who had been raised Catholic, but now teaches Zen meditation. He even came to the evening Question Mark, where Mark spoke on “Finding Satisfaction.” He said afterwards, “I wanted to tell the students that you described my life. I’ve started companies internationally, made $150,000/yr, tried drugs & alcohol & sex, but none of it satisfies!” That night, 5 students indicated they wanted to begin following Christ and finding true satisfaction in him.
